We arrived at the Taoyuan (桃园) International Airport around evening. Gotta say I’m already excited to meet pretty girls in this promised land! ^^

Our first stop – Shilin night market (士林夜市).

And had our dinner (which was also our first meal in Taiwan) there.

Continued walking around before we head back to our hotel.

The second day – I took this from the restaurant on the top level of my hotel. As you can see it was rush hour. ^^;;

After breakfast, we took  the express train for a one hour journey to the southern part of Taiwan.

I forgot where we took this photo. Was it the seaside of Kaoshiung (高雄)?

A short bus journey to this small town called Qijin (旗津) after the unknown seaside.

One of the oldest temple in Taiwan which worships Mazu (妈祖). She is the deity who blesses the fishermen for their safety returns from the sea.

The light exposure seems to be a distraction from this otherwise good photo. ^^;;

We spent the evening walking around in this yet-I-forgot-again night market in Kaoshiung.

Had a lovely dinner there too. Sorry for the blurry image. T.T

The next morning we stopped at a temple before going to another temple. O.o Seriously I couldn’t remember the deity’s name. -_-

Okay, this time we were headed to a Buddhist temple – Foguangshan (佛光山).

The sculptures of the 108 guardians of Buddha. Did you notice the abundance of religion-related photos in this post? Perhaps I could convert this casual vacation to a pilgrimage journey to the East. -_-

Super delicious meal! But in the end we couldn’t finish all the food. T.T

We reached Taipei in the evening. This was took at a busy junction in Ximending (西门町).

We didn’t forget to fill our stomach with the famous Ah Zong Mian Xian (阿宗面线).

The tradition is to eat it while standing. ^^;;

On the fourth day, we set out to a town on mountainous region, Jiufen (九份). Breathtaking view of the Pacific Ocean, is it not?

Aliens do walk among people.

There was this beautiful waterfall near the town.

And what is more enjoying than having a high tea session in front of a waterfall? Ah, the majestic nature… ^^

The last day was a shopping spree. That might explains why I didn’t shoot more. ^^;;

And the last dinner we had before taking off on the next morning.

Of course, the loots from this trip:

And that concludes this trip to Taiwan! Definitely will visit there again, someday… ^^

… … Screw it, I’m not good with prolonged introduction and maudlin displays of emotion, so I’m gonna cut the chase and make it to the point. ^^

A lot of things have happened in my life ever since I somewhat disappeared from the blog-o-sphere, some good, some bad, a little traveling here and there, so on and forth. It’s gonna be hell if I tried to cramp all of them into this one tiny little post, so I’ll just list out the major events here and progressively update each of them in a separate post respectively.

1. A six days vacation to Taiwan. (January 6 – 11)
2. Graduated from university and subsequently entered postgraduate studies.
3. One week trip to Japan. (September 8 – 14)
4. Singapore F1 Grand Prix 2010. (September 26)
5. Work trip to Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia. (October 22 – 24)

So… That’s all I can think of for now. Let’s see, according to the list, you can expect the next post would be on the Taiwan trip. I sure hope that the difference in time for the two posts won’t be too much. -_-
